Covid: How many people have been vaccinated in Wales?

Nearly a quarter of สมัครสมาชิกสล็อต all over-70s in Wales have been given the full Covid-19 vaccine, according to latest figures.

So far, 36.1% of the Welsh population have had a first dose and 8.7% have had a full vaccination, according to data from Public Health Wales (PHW).

Monday saw 16,935 people get a first dose and 8,728 get a second.

It means a total of 1,139,866 people in Wales have been given a first dose while 272,983 have had the second dose – the full vaccination course.

More than 213,000 people were given a dose in the week up to Monday.

This ties in with expectations from health officials, following the ramping up of supplies, including more of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.

A total of 72% of healthcare workers and 62.4% of care home staff have also had the full course.

How many have received a first dose?
Up to Monday night, 1,139,866 people had been given their first dose in Wales – 36.1% of the population.

England has given first doses to 37.5% of its population and Scotland is on 35.6%. Northern Ireland is on 33.5%.

The UK nations have converged on numbers of first doses. The daily rate had tailed off but has picked up again as the programmes move on to the next set of priority groups and supplies have increased again.

Wales is currently a little ahead on its daily average of first doses.

What is happening with second doses?
The total number of people having the full vaccine course now stands at 272,983 – with 8,728 second doses given out on Monday.

It means 8.7% of the population have now had the full course of a vaccine.

Wales has regularly been ahead of the other UK nations in terms of its daily average of full doses.

Data shows Scotland and Northern Ireland have fully vaccinated 3.1% of their populations, and England 2.1%.
