The energy transition zone in Aberdeen is being allocated £26 million by the slotxo Scottish Government. To help transition from oil and gas to green energy which is almost identical to the funds provided by the UK government.
The zone aims to turn the area into a hub for cleaner energy such as offshore wind and hydrogen.Planned projects include production for a floating offshore wind farm. institute of skills and a facility for testing hydrogen energy.
The Aberdeen Energy Transition Zone (ETZ) is being built south of the Port of Aberdeen and is expected to directly support 2,500 green jobs by 2030, alongside another 10,000 transition-related jobs.
The Scottish Government’s money comes from the £62million Energy Transition Fund for five years.The fund has already given £6.5 million for underwater hubs worldwide and £4.65 million to Aberdeen City Council to expand its hydrogen bus fleet.
Michael Matheson, Minister for Energy and Transport at Net Zero, said: “The Scottish Government is committed to ending our contribution to climate change by 2045 and taking action in a manner that ensures it. that Just switch to net-zero to make sure no one gets left behind.
