The announcement comes less than two months after Woven Planet Holdings acquired the Lyft autonomous unit known as Level 5 for $ 550 million.
It also follows another acquisition of HD mapping – the purchase of DeepMap by Nvidia – which was announced in June.Under the terms of the agreement, Carmera will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Woven Planet.
The 50-person startup team will maintain offices in New York and Seattle and will eventually be integrated into 1,000-person Woven Planet, according to Woven Planet CEO James Kuffner.
